Do I need an account?

No. There is no sign-up, no login, and no password. Download the app and drive. Your subscription lives in your Apple ID like any other App Store subscription.

Where is my data stored?

On your iPhone and, if you want, in your own private iCloud so it syncs to your iPad. Nothing goes to us. The App Store lists PocketMile as Data Not Collected, and you can switch to on-device-only storage anytime.

How much does it cost?

$2.99 a month after a 7-day free trial, and that one subscription unlocks everything. Cancel anytime from your Apple ID settings.

Does it work in Canada and the United States?

Yes. Pick your country once and PocketMile uses the right units and the right export: CRA logbook columns for Canada, IRS columns for the US, plus a PDF summary for your accountant.

Will it drain my battery?

No more than a maps app you leave open would, and usually far less. GPS is only on while you are actually driving. The rest of the day PocketMile listens to the iPhone motion chip, which costs almost nothing.

How does it know business from personal?

Four ways, and you choose which to use: the car you are in (paired by Bluetooth or CarPlay audio), a saved place like Home or Office, a Working mode you switch on for the day, or a quick swipe on any trip.

What if it misses a trip?

You can add or edit any trip by hand, and a deleted trip sits in Recently Deleted until you are sure. If tracking ever misbehaves, Send Feedback inside the app attaches a diagnostic log so we can fix the cause.
